Colors and lyrics appearance
How to set the colors of verses, choruses, comments and chords, the font, weight, line spacing, section size and indent. Appearance for the whole band.
Where do I set the lyrics appearance?
In the ☰ menu choose Settings → Lyrics appearance (in the browser panel: the Settings tab). Only the band owner sets the appearance, and it applies to the whole repertoire on every device.
Live preview
At the top of the page (on a computer - at the side) there is a preview of lyrics with chords. Every change is visible right away, before you save. Tapping part of the preview (e.g. the chorus) selects that element for editing.
Whole text
- Font - Inconsolata, JetBrains Mono, Roboto Mono, Source Code Pro or Courier Prime. All of them are fixed-width, so chords always stay above the right syllables. The fonts are built into the app, so they look the same on every device, even without internet.
- Text weight - normal, medium or bold. A heavier font is easier to read from a distance and on weaker screens.
- Line spacing - from very small to very large. New bands start with small.
- Background color.
Individual elements
The Verse, Chorus, Comment and Chord tabs let you set for each element separately:
- color,
- bold (B) and italic (I),
- size - small, normal or large (e.g. a bigger chorus, a smaller comment),
- indent - e.g. the chorus moved to the right so it stands out from the verse at once (chords have no indent).
Ready-made themes
Instead of setting everything by hand you can pick a ready-made theme - see Themes and color schemes.
Effect of the changes
The appearance applies to the whole repertoire and every device in the band. Changing the chorus color changes every song that has a chorus. The other devices get the new look with the lyrics update. Text size is set by each musician on their own device - Font size.
